When not serving families in the community I enjoy going on adventures with my family being outdoors and being involved at my local church

Founder & Lead Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Holistic | Functional | Family-Centered Pediatrics
Hi, I’m Katie Anne—but you can call me Katie! I’m a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, entrepreneur, and founder of Pure Pediatrics & Wellness, where I bring together conventional medicine, holistic principles, and functional medicine to offer truly transformative pediatric care.
With over 20 years in healthcare, I bring deep clinical expertise, warmth, and intuition to the families I serve. I’m board-certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) and licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. My greatest passion is empowering families through education, root-cause medicine, and personalized care with a holistic approach to the child’s health—addressing emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
With extensive training in pediatric functional medicine and as a mold-literate practitioner, I specialize in supporting children with PANS/PANDAS, severe eczema, mold toxicity, chronic gut-immune dysregulation, and other neuroimmune and complex pediatric conditions. I work to identify the why behind each child’s symptoms, using a blend of modern diagnostics and natural, evidence-informed interventions to support true healing.
I have completed extensive training in functional and pediatric integrative medicine through leading programs and practitioners, including the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), MAPS/MedMaps, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), Dr. Nancy O’Hara, Dr. Elisa Song, Dr. Sheila Kilbane, Dr. Jill Crista, and more. This training allows me to support children with PANS/PANDAS, severe eczema, mold toxicity, chronic gut-immune dysregulation, and other neuroimmune and complex pediatric conditions. I work to identify the why behind each child’s symptoms, using a blend of modern diagnostics and natural, evidence-informed interventions to support true healing.
Before founding Pure Pediatrics, I spent many years in pediatric emergency medicine, where I developed a keen ability to assess acutely ill children, respond quickly, and advocate fiercely for families in times of need. I also served as an adjunct professor at Shenandoah University, where I mentored future pediatric providers and shared my love for evidence-informed, heart-centered care.
In February 2021, I launched Pure Pediatrics & Wellness to meet a pressing need in my community: accessible, comprehensive, and integrative pediatric primary care that doesn’t rush, dismiss, or overlook the nuances of growing children. Whether I’m guiding a family through newborn care, troubleshooting a child’s chronic symptoms, or providing reassurance via text message, I aim to walk beside families with empathy, clarity, and clinical excellence.
My favorite part of this work? Watching a child come back to life after months or years of struggle. Supporting new parents as they find their rhythm. And offering families the kind of relationship-based care that’s often missing in today’s medical system.
